17 Oct 2024 Exciting news! The hard work of our collaboration with the team at the University of Southern Queensland (A/Prof Toan Dinh) has finally paid off. Our project has been funded by the QLD Government in the Quantum Challenge 2032 ($832K)! We will develop a hybrid wearable quantum sensing system that will help monitor athlete training activities and minimize their injuries. The project is built upon years of expertise in quantum materials, sensing, and nanofabrication from both the research groups at UTS and USQ, respectively.

28 Dec 2023 Shakhawath's work entitled "Fiber-Based Ratiometric Optical Thermometry with Silicon Vacancy in Microdiamonds" has been published in ACS Applied Optical Materials as a front cover. 13 Nov 2023 Toan has secured his continuing position (similar to tenure in the US) as a Lecturer at the School of Electrical and Data Engineering (SEDE), UTS! Congrats to Toan!
30 Oct 2023 Toan and the team in UTS Science (Prof Milos Toth, Dr Kianinia) and UQ (Dr Carla Verdi) has been awarded the prestigious ARC Discovery Project amounting to $606,000 (cat 1 funding). The DP project aims to develop pure and high-efficient indistinguishable single photon sources for quantum key distribution and the alike.
